Weigelas!

Purchased in 2009 as 6-inch bare root sticks for $1 each via Gurney's. One in north bed, one in south bed. Pics taken May 9, 2011. I just read that if you prune after bloom you'll get a second flush as they bloom on both old and new wood. I'll give this a try this year.

Bumblebees love these!

Mystery weigela

This is another shrub I ordered through a cheapo nursery like Henry Fields. It was a 12-inch bare-root stick I put in the ground in the spring of 2009. I love the reliable spring bloom!
